08:00 - Depart Dublin's fair city with your sparkling Irish Tour Guide and a host of other international travellers of all ages. We depart from Paddys Palace/Dublin Central Hostel on Lower Gardiner Street near BusAras and the official Dublin Tourist Office on Suffolk street (the former church on the south side of town) and O'Connell Street (Dublins main city). It's onwards to the North. A wonderful tour lies ahead, with a short 2 hour drive to Belfast on the brand new 'Peace Highway'. The drive up will be broken up by some interesting and lovely little stops every 30 minutes or so.

09:15 - After a few songs (Paddywagon guides are famed for their ability to sing fun Irish ballads) and many stories en route we'll stop off at beautiful St. Peters Cathedral in Drogheda. Now before you go and think 'oh no, not another Cathedral' - we are primarily taking you here to view the fully preserved head of St. Oliver Plunkett! Yes that's right, his actual head! St. Oliver, or plain old Bishop Oliver as he was then known, was beheaded by the English in 1681 and his rather handsome head now sits staring at you from a glass box by the altar!). This is one of the bizarre cultural gems Paddywagon love to take you off the beaten path to see.

10:05 - After crossing the border we'll take time off the bus out in the rolling countryside of County Louth to enjoy the high Celtic crosses (10th century) at the ruined but evocative monastery of Monasterboice. Check out the round tower which was built to keep the monks safe from marauding vikings!!

Arrive in beautiful Belfast and down to the docks to see the biggest hole in Ireland - the dry dock for the Titanic and from where the most famous ship in history was launched in 1912.take a photo-stop at Queens University Belfast and its beautiful red-brick classic facade.

At 3pm, we will gather in the marvellous and glorious front entrance chamber to Belfast City Hall for an in depth-tour of this majestic building. The interior Mayors parlour is an except replica of the Captains quarters on the Titanic (both being built at the same time by the same Belfast designers), if youre a history lover or adorer of architecture and fine interior you will love this tour that is exclusive to Paddywagon day-trippers ONLY!

We arrive back into downtown Dublin (approx 18:30), our thirst for knowledge quenched and having enjoyed a great, fun, informative and value-for-money big day out to Belfast. Go neiri an mbothar leat - may the road rise to meet you
